Jonathan Majors’ lawyers under the scanner in assault case

Since March, Jonathan Majors has been embroiled in never-ending controversies following his arrest in the domestic assault case. The latest in a string of accusations was his legal team, who are accused by the Manhattan DA’s office of tampering with the evidence.

The district attorney’s filing asked that the court’s proceeding be saved in writing or records because the Marvel star’s lawyers are obstructing the prosecutor’s case by inappropriately dealing with the evidence,according to The Messenger.

The alleged tactics included allegations of racism in the office, accusing them of misandry, making false claims about the presence of a clip, twisting witness testimonies, and filling in the media with the evidence.

“The defense wishes to invalidate a Certificate of Compliance based on evidence they generated, and information they were aware of,” the filing continued.

“Such a position undermines the good faith of the defense’s argument and invites gamesmanship in future cases: a bastardization of the criminal procedure law that the discovery statute was intended to thwart.”
