‘The Archies’ official Netflix trailer gives life to Zoya Akhtar’s version of Riverdale

The eagerly awaited trailer for Zoya Akhtar’s film The Archies has finally been released.

Based on the beloved Archie Comics, the main cast members include Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews, who’s also Big B Amitabh Bacchan’s grandson, Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late actress Sri Devi, as Betty Cooper, and Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge.

The Netflix film, releasing on December 7, will also feature Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Dot as Ethel Muggs and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley. It also has a special appearance of Pakistani actor Ali Khan.

The trailer offered a thrilling look into the coming-of-age movie as it offered a glimpse into the small endearing village of Riverdale with a love triangle enfolding among the main trio.

Under Zoya Akhtar’s direction and Tiger Baby’s production, The Archies is a musical film set in the 1960s era of India which revolves around the group trying to save a cherished park from demolition as they encounter romance, adolescence and decide Riverdale’s destiny.
