‘The Notebook’ rep reveals if Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling had chemistry

The casting director of The Notebook recently praised Britney Spears’ chemistry with Ryan Gosling when she came in to audition for the movie in 2002.

Matthew Berry spoke with The Entertainment Tonight and shared he’s glad Britney’s fans got to see “her other side” after The Daily Mail released the first-ever footage from the audition.

He recalled watching her deliver the lines tearfully, “Britney came in and blew us all away.” 

In the clip, then-21-year-old pop star can be seen wearing a white lace top as she delivers her lines emotionally in front of Ryan Gosling, who was off-screen. He continued by sharing that the Barbie actor had good chemistry with Britney

“They both were very professional. He was really cool and allowed Britney the time to discuss the role and character with the director,” he said.

“I think once it was all over, then it was, like, reunion time,” said Matthew, adding that the two have previously worked together in Mickey Mouse Club (1989).
