‘Sometimes it is acting’: Rizwan’s honest admission about cramps

Mohammad Rizwan overcame cramps to complete his third ODI century in the ICC World Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, in a lighthearted admission, Rizwan joked about occasionally faking cramps, blending seriousness with humor in his remarks.

“Sometimes cramps, sometimes it’s my acting (laughs).”

Rizwan, who received player of the match award, hit eight fours and three sixes during his unbeaten 131* innings.

“Always proud when you perform like that. It was difficult and when you chase like that, it’s always special. Every player in the dressing room had the belief we can chase that. Basically, it’s a good track and we decided to calculate the innings,” Rizwan said.

“I stuck to my plans and told Abdullah Shafique to take the game deep. Cricket is a team game and it was important to win for the team,” he added.
