Cher says 37 year old beau doesn’t get her references: ‘I wasn’t born yet’

Cher has shared a hilarious anecdote about her relationship with 40-year younger Alexander ‘A.E’ Edwards.

The Goddess of Pop, 77, spoke about how happy Edwards makes her and revealed that they can talk about anything, but, he doesn’t get most of her references.

“I hate to talk about how happy I am, but no, we have a great time together. We can talk music,” Cher told Extra.

“We can talk about everything. He’s a got a great sense of humor, he’s got the cutest son in the world, ever. We just get each other.”

The singer then joked about the age-gap, revealing how Edwards responds to her references: “Sometimes I’m talking to him and he has no idea who I’m talking about.”

“The other day, I said, ‘Do you know who, I don’t know, Clark Gable, [is]?’ He said, ‘Yes, of course,’ but most of my references… He’ll look at me and go, ‘I wasn’t born yet’.”

Cher and A.E met in October 2022 at Paris Fashion Week after a mutual friend gave him her number.

Cher and Edwards began dating in October 2022, after a friend introduced the two. Edwards has previously dated Kanye West’s ex Amber Rose and shares a three-year-old son, Slash Electric Alexander Edwards with her.
