Madonna’s inspiring story of survival, triumph on ‘Celebration World Tour’

Madonna, often referred to as Queen of Pop is currently rocking the stage for her highly anticipated Celebration World Tour. The songstress is opening up about the reactions she received during her health scare, which forced her to postpone her tour.

During her show in Antwerp, Belgium on October 22, 2023, Madonna recalled the scariest phase of her life when she was treated for a nearly fatal bacterial infection and had to stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital for several days.

In conversation with the audience, the songstress said, “I was in hospital less than four months ago, unconscious, and people predicted that I might not be able to get through that phase.”

She continued, “It’s a fu**king miracle that I am here right now.”

She also paid a heartfelt tribute to her mother, who died of breast cancer in 1963. 

Madonna said, “My mother, God bless her. She must be watching over me. She said, ‘Girl, it’s not your time to go’. I suddenly have sympathy and empathy for my mother.”

Madonna detailed that she was not talking about the dying part but the part where her mother was in the hospital, adding, “How lonely she must have felt laying in the hospital, knowing that she wasn’t going to live, and I was given another chance.”
